I would like to share a little bit about myself. I have been teaching at Haisley for twenty years. I taught special education for 10 years, Kindergarten for three years, eight years in 1st grade and this is my first year in 2nd grade I am married with two boys who are twelve and fifteen, Matthew and Zachary. We rescued our new puppy Rudy from the Oakland county animal shelter three years ago. Our family loves the outdoors, especially when we are camping. We love to go on walks, ride our bikes, go swimming, kayak and sledding. I love to shop, but my boys do not so we have to dress up and take silly pictures.
I love working with children. I enjoy hearing their stories, observing their growth as they learn, and watching them become part of our 2nd grade community. I believe that each child is an individual who demonstrates strengths and weaknesses. We continue to focus on their strengths along with working on their weaknesses. Each morning we will have a morning meeting in which we will focus on rules, life skills, and much more. I use humor, modeling, movement activities, technology, music and hands-on activities as much as possible to enhance each child’s learning experience. I feel strongly that parents and educators should work together as a team to create the best learning experience for their child. I am looking forward to a fabulous school year with your child.
